Iron Spider-Man (Translucent Variant)

Packaging

We have packaging from back in the day of MU here. The front of the package is the same as the original Iron Spider-Man packaging, as is the back, same figure advertisements and all.

Paint

We have the same exact paint job here except the figure mold is translucent this time around.  I have to say I could normally care less about figures gone translucent, but I really like it here.   I’m not sure it pops as nicely as the original, but still a nice touch.

Articulation

Again same as the original here, ball and socket hip joints, bending knees and limited motion on the ankles. The torso spins at the chest, the head has a reasonable range of motion, and the arms spin at the writs, bend at the elbows and a ball and socket shoulders.  No complaints here.

Character Likeness

I feel like we keep finding ourselves saying, “this is Spider-Man” or other said character that we are reviewing.  So, for that reason alone, this is Bob Barker.

Accessories

Spidey comes with four spider arms.

Overall

No major changes to talk about here besides the fact he is now translucent.  I’m trying to remember the comics and honestly I can’t remember this form of Iron Spider-Man.  I know he could go camo style in this suit, but clear for no reason?  I’ll leave it to you all of you to jog my memory which I”m sure you will.

Score

StoredLook, I have Iron Spider-Man already.  In my mind this in no way is up to snuff to replace the existing figure.

Rating System Each figure will be reviewed under the following categories:
Packaging
Paint
Articulation
Accessories
Character Likeness
OverallEach figure will then be given an overall grade out of 5 levels:
Displayed front and center – Perfect score
Displayed but more to the side – Second best, nothing wrong with that
Displayed somewhere I might see it – Displayed, it’s good, I like it, not as much as others.
Displayed but buried in the back – Not all that great, but no other options for this figure
Stored* – It’s really not worth displaying.
*This will be caveat-ed, if the figure is excellent but is being moved out in favor of a better version of the same character, this will be explained.
