Yesterday 10/4/11 geeks and hipsters alike watched live blogs, news shows, and the Internet in general with baited breath waiting for news of Apple’s latest, greatest product, or innovation. When we got the iPhone 4S, many of us sighed, scoffed, mocked, some of us rejoiced, began anticipation, but all of us watched and waited for “….one more thing”.

Today that showed up in spades. Steve Jobs 1955 – 2011. The Geek world lost an icon, an innovator, and a hero to so many. I’ve heard just as many bad things about Mr. Jobs as good things, I’m sure as many are true as are false, but that doesn’t change the fact that his children lost a father, his wife lost a husband, and his friends lost a friend. What’s more, for better or worse, the world lost someone that changed it. So few of us can hope to do that in ways that he did.

Rest in peace Steve Jobs. Our thoughts are with your family. See you at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store in the sky (and I’ll mock those geniuses too).
