Minimates Wave 50 – Baron Zemo II and Nova Centurion

It’s time for round two of the Nova Centurion, Zemo Wave 50 releases!  This time around we find the more svelte, streamlined Baron pitted against the same 11 possible configurations of a Nova Centurion.  I’ll give you the preview…it’s an awesome pack.  Read on.

Baron Zemo II

The Good:

  • This is a fantastic representation of modern day Baron Zemo.
  • Unlike other Baron Zemo releases in other lines, the sword fits, you cannot acquit!
  • Excellent body and line detail.
  • Putting Zemo and a Nova Centurion in the same package conjures images that I’d love to see in the comics.

The Bad:

  • As with Zemo I, we have nice white fur, but no leopard printing.  No biggie, he’s still awesome.
  • As not with Zemo I, Zemo II does not have a removable mask.
  • Has gun, no holster.  That always makes me sad.

Nova Centurion – Repeated from previous post, this is the same Nova in both the Zemo I and Zemo II packs.

The Good:

  • How many ways can this guy be configured?  Let’s count the ways:
    • Default – white head, Nova helmet.
    • Blue head, Nova Helmet.
    • Blue head, mohawk.
    • White head, mowhawk.
    • White head, brown hair.
    • Blue head, brown hair.
    • White head, black hair.
    • Blue head, black hair.
    • Blue head bald.
    • White head bald.
  • One box, 10 different figures, that doesn’t include Zemo…wait, what if we put the Zemo cowl on Nova, ELEVEN! Ok…now I’m being ridiculous.
  • Outstanding, authentic representation that is accurately colored and designed of a much over looked army builder opportunity in so many other toy lines.

The Bad:

  • There is nowhere that I can go to pick up 9 more Nova figures so that I can represent all of the variations at the same time on the same shelf…for free.

Both

The Rest:

  • With the Baron Zemo and Baron Zemo II packs, you get two unique Zemos and a build in way to army build your Nova Corps.  This is a no brainer.
