Minimates: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Blind Bag Case

Diamond Select Toys is amazing for so many reasons.  Most recently though, it’s because they sent me a case of the brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles blind bag figures.  When you talk about good Christmas gifts, you don’t get much better than this.  I’m not going to give you a traditional review here, just going to talk about some of the awesome in the box and why you should go get one!

The Case

What’s in the box – 18 blind bagged figures in individual packages.

  • 2X Leonardo
  • 2X Donatello
  • 2X Michelangelo
  • 2X Raphael
  • 1X Mutagen Raphael (or Michelangelo…I think, I didn’t get one).
  • 3X Foot Soldier
  • 2X Foot Bot
  • 2X April
  • 2X Shredder

What is kinda great about just buying a case:

It shouldn’t be a secret at this point that DST has begun selling these figures in 2-pack card backs featuring nearly the same assortment featured in the case, with the exception of a Mutagen Leonardo instead of Raph or Mikey.  However, what you get with the purchase of the case is some pretty awesome easy army building that you might not have otherwise signed on for, depending on your method of collecting.  Also, when you think about it, you even sort of army build April in addition to the Foot soldiers and bots, in an effort to recreate  the many clone April episode from season 2.

What’s not great about just buying a case:

Strangely, retailers, and I’m sure Diamond Select Toys themselves expect money in exchange for goods.  This is really the only rough spot on buying a case.  It costs dollars.  In the end though, your dollars are absolutely well spent here!!

Availability:

I have taken a ton of pictures of the case, and the assortments included.  Over the next few weeks we will be taking a nice close up look at all of the individual figures.  I know TMNT isn’t our usual bag, but these are exceptional figures, and MUReview.net is an absolute fan of the 2012 run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…though admittedly, we are still skeptical of the cast change to Seth Green for Leonardo, but we are dealing.

Just as a preview to the coming reviews…there isn’t one of these figures that is anything less than awesome.  Stay tuned!!
