Long Island Toy Fair 2012

Long Island Toy Fair 2012

Had a little time this morning to check out some local Toy goodness.  Today is / was the annual Long Island Toy Fair, held this year at Hofstra University’s Student Center.  The event had early admission beginning at 9AM and opened for general admission at 10AM.  General admission is $10 and the show runs until 4PM today, so head down and check it out if you are interested.

The show featured a good selection of vintage to modern toys from both private and commercial retailers.  There are deals to be had, but there are also some vendors there that are looking for eBay prices or better, and in an environment like this it’s always disappointing to see that.

On the other hand we saw KillerCollectibles custom made G.I. Joe Jets and a few other really neat custom pieces.  Pricey, but absolutely worth it for one of a kind pieces like that.  Have a look at the gallery for a few shots of some of the other stuff on hand.

Also at the show, fully costumed Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, some Jedi and Alliance ship crew members.  You can check out additional information on the show at – http://www.litoyshow.com.  It was also great to meet Make Mine Marvel group admins John P. and Jason K.

Early admission to the show (online only) was $5 and put you into a drawing for a prize.  I won a G.I. Joe classic Viper.  no complaints here!  Check it out this year, tell em’ MUReview sent ya…for pretty much no reaction at all :).
