Transformers Rise of the Beasts hit theaters on June 9th 2023. The litlgeeks and I saw Rise of the Beasts…June 9th 2023! And we LOVED it! Now, admittedly, I’m an old world, Generation 1 Transformers fan to the bone. After the initial overwhelming feeling of glee seeing my big bots on screen through the Bayverse movies through 2000s and early 2010s, I have to be honest. The glee turned into, this just isn’t working. So, when Bumblebee came out just a few years ago, and promised to restore some of the glory of Transformers, and delivered, that was big for me, and big for the litlgeeks. Building off of that restoration, with a head of steam, Rise of the Beasts dares to go further, to expand the universe, and even to bring other universes in line with Transformers on screen! While I can’t wait to see what is next out of the movie series, Hasbro has us along for the ride with some amazing Rise of the Beasts figures and role play toys to continue all of the Rise of the Beasts fun at home! They kindly sent us a massive box filled with said figures and toys for free to share with you, our friends out there on the internet. So buckle up! We’ve got a lot of amazing stuff to see!

More Transformers as litlholiday gifts? Yes please! And we aren’t even done here! Diamond Select Toys has the Minimate Making Machine fired up, and we are getting bot after bot. Series 2 is in the books, now on to Series 3, with Jazz, Arcee, Galvatron, and Coronation Starscream! Each bot is beautifully detailed, and they all come in a nice, tiny package, perfect as a litlstocking stuffer! Let’s check these all time favorite, Transformers the Movie bots out with the litlgeeks!
Jazz is a mllion billion fan favorite Bot. So Diamond Select Toys had to hit a home run here, and they did!
It’s Jazz!
His helmet and visor are perfect
His chest plate is bot accurate
He’s got his screen matched blaster
The only thing missing is ScatmMan Crothers voice!
Arcee
It’s Arcee, and she thinks you are probably not taking this seriously enough
The leg details are awesome
Back pieces, Diamond pulled off the back pieces!
Chest section here looks more screen authentic actually, than the most recent Master-Piece Arcee Transformer
Galvatron
Behold! Galvatron!
He’s got his bright orange blaster!
Massive chonky shoulders – check
Crown shaped helmet, excellent
He has the hard, sharp lined face of a conqueror
Feet per also screen dead on
Coronation Starscream
The only thing this bot is missing is a bag of ash from the hint Galvatron gives him
Faithful screen style Starscream, this time though,
He’s got his crown, his shoudler pads, and his flowing cape!
Thiiiis is an awesome Starscream!
The Rest
Another outstanding Minimates Transformers set in Series 3. As with Series 2, this set makes me want every single G1 bot as a Minimate…the sooner the better! These are awesome Minimates, awesome Transformers, and would make a perfect gift for any Transformers fan!

I feel like we’ve been waiting for more Transformers Minimates for a while…maybe anticipating is a better word. Either way, we cannot get enough Transformers Minimates. They showcase tiny versions of our all time favorite Autobots and Decepticons. And the thing about Minimates, especially a set like this, is the packaging is small, and small packaging makes for awesome litlstocking stuffers! So watch as the litlgeeks check out Series 2 of Transformers Minimates, because it’s litlholiday for everyone, not just kids, and I know I’d be happy to get these in my stocking!
Blaster may not transform, but he comes with himself…transformed!
Blaster also comes with his …blaster
Toon accurate in shape and color, I love his helmet with the lttle ears
His cassette deck chest looks so real I feel like I should be able to press a button to open it up
Soundwave
Soundwave Superior? Well, he does come with his iconic blaster, but he doesn’t come with a transformed version of himself…
BUT. He does come with a transformed version of Megatron to fire at will
His helmet as well, very detailed and show accurate
Love his shoulder piece, also show / toon accurate
The coloring here is perfect
Megatron
Megatron is a ‘must nail it’ figure for Diamond Select as a Transformers Minimate, and they do!
He’s shiny silver, grey in the right spots, red in the right other ones. He’s got his Energon mace too
Helmet and face are dead on
Arm cannon is perfect
It’s Megatron!
Grimlock
Him Grimlock King! No really, look at the ‘wings, the wrist toes, he’s a work of art
Chest gold color and shape are outstanding
The feet look just like Grimlock feet!
Helmet here, again, is spot on
Comes with his Dinobot sword!
Man this really makes me want the rest of the Dinobots!
The Rest
We now have Series 2 and 3 in hand here at MUReview and litlgeeks – for Transformers Minimates. They are both excellent sets, and while we will be getting to Series 3 shortly, just saying out loud. Man these really make me want more. I want the full G1 cast in Minimate form as soon as humanly possible. Every bot they roll out is better than the last. The Transformers are shining bright in Minimate form! Till all are one!

We have been all over the 86 Studio Series Transformers from Hasbro, from the first…one of which was… GRIMLOCK! Well, Grimlock came with a Wheelie, and while it was a nice to have, it definitely left a bunch to be desired. Bring us around to many conversations with Hasbro, talking about how excited they were for their Core Class bots. Well, that excitement comes to fruition over and over again, first with a much upgraded Spike, and now, with Wheelie!

He really looks like Wheelie, right from the movie, very little compromise from screen to plastic here
That bright orange color is perfect
He comes with his slingshot!
Movie accurate head sculpt
He’s the perfect size to hang out with Grimlock in Core Class!
In Alt Mode:
He turns into his tiny space car!
He really looks great, though just a little kibbly with his hands poking out of the back
The canopy is a bit of a trick to get flush
Transformation
Fast and easy 12 step transformation

We are nothing if not honest here at MUReview, and I will be with you now. We weren’t going to get Ratchet. But, we really wanted Wheelie, and the fastest way to get him for us, was with Ratchet through Big Bad Toy Store. So we did that. And after spending some time with Ratchet, I’d buy him again in a heartbeat. In fact, we will be on the look out for core class Iron Hide when he hopefully, eventually drops. But we are here to talk about Ratchet today, and Hasbro did an outstanding job of turning him tiny!
(litlgeeks and MUReview may receive a small commission if links in this post are used to make purchases)
We loved the main line Ratchet because it did a great job of looking…like Ratchet. Well, This Core Class version does an equally great job of looking like our on screen 86 movie Ratchet, except, much smaller!
He moves really well for a small bot
He comes with his iconic dual pistols
The medic / Autobot logos are present on his shoulders as they should be
His head / face sculpt, which is most important, is dead on accurate!
In Alt Mode:
He turns into a medical van / ambulance, and looks great doing it, though, there are some gaps
It’s also a little bit of a struggle to get all of the connection points to stay together
He looks like Ratchet’s on screen alt mode!
Transformation
15 steps from Bot to Alt, and a few are a little fiddly when it comes to tabbing in, but it’s definitely easy enough for a fidget toy!

Another step closer to having the gang back together with our new Dinobot friend, 86′ Series Sludge! Sludge is the largest of the Dinobots, one of the most fun, and has long been on our 86 want list. So we are excited that Hasbro has delivered in a big way here! 3 down (Grimlock, Slug, Sludge), 2 to go (Swoop and Snarl), very excited to let the litlgeeks check out this big boy for us today!!
(litlgeeks and MUReview may receive a small commission if links in this post are used to make purchases)
For a big fella he’s very articulated in bot mode, and you can pose him out very well
Includes his blaster (screen accurate)
Includes a movie scene inspired in package backdrop
In Alt Mode:
He’s a giant flippin’ dinosaur!!
That beautiful goofy Sludge dino face is perfect
He moves just like a dinosaur
Can he do the sploot? He can!!!
Transformation
Sludge transforms in 31 steps very simple and quick steps!
Smooth transformation
Solid and clean finish on tabs and slots, everything fits
Note – we mention in the video, there is a gap underneath, that gap is meant to be filled with the feet
