Very happy to get Flint into the Classified line, especially this early.  He joins a growing list of much needed Joes to battle the forces of The Enemy.  He’s exceptionally reminiscent of the original Flint figure with some modernizations that do the job of modernizing him well, I just prefer to keep it classic, so I’m getting more than one, and I’ll be taking knife and brush to make some modifications, but this figure will no doubt remain untouched and stand proudly as my main line Flint!

The Good

  • Beret – check
  • Bullet harness – check
  • Shotgun – features a fun gimmick where you can open it to simulate re-load, it does a near full crack in half
  • I wasn’t a fan of the Duke face, it does the job, but it didn’t feel like it fit.  For Flint though, I dig it, it fits, he looks tough, not too slender
  • He’s got the classic black and green camo paint job and it looks great

The Bad

  • FLAK vest limits torso articulation
  • I would have loved a classic boom canon to be included
  • I understand the desire to modernize, but man, just cutting out the middle of the vest and making it two over the shoulder shotgun shell straps, removing the shin and knee guards, he’d be a near 1 to 1 classic Flint in six inch scale….so I’m gonna do that and make him perfect

The Rest

I never got the original flint as a kid.  I had Tiger Force version, even the Eco-Warriors version.  So it’s bitter sweet to get this one.  I’m thrilled to add him to the collection and equally as thrilled to put my own spin on him and display them together.
